Cajuns heading to New Orleans Bowl for fourth time

Our TV partner KLFY is reporting that UL will return to the Superdome for this year's matchup with a yet-to-be-determined team.
The New Orleans Bowl, which normally pits a Sun Belt team vs. a Conference USA team, has a contract this year with the Mountain West to supply a team rather than C-USA. Leading contenders for a Ragin' Cajun opponent – something that might not be decided until Sunday – include 7-5 Nevada, 9-4 Utah State and 7-5 Rice.

I know the typical northern schools are going to hate.... but I don't care who you are, that is a fun time to be in New Orleans. Every game has been exciting and it's a very fun atmosphere. If you have the chance to make it I would recommend it. Fun times. 
Also the Saints play the falcons the next day so it will make for a fun weekend

Had they won their last 2 games to finish 9-3, there MIGHT have been some leverage to see if a "better bowl" was an option. After losing to App St., that was gone.
If we were to hold out for a "better bowl" and then get left out in the cold, the result, especially on this board, would be how we're just as dumb as LA Tech when they declined the Indy Bowl.
When you're a Sunbelt school, short of a spectacular season (which 9-3 still wouldn't have been considering the way we allowed LA Tech to embarrass us at home), you take the bowl that is a sure thing.
For us, that's been NOLA Bowl. Would Cajuns fans like better? Sure, but we haven't earned the opportunity yet.

Nola is about to get a lot trashier.
