If I was a past espy winner I'd give my trophy back. That's pathetic

Did not skim 12 pages.

1. A decathlete IS a badass. But it was 1976. His gold medal and wheaties years are unknown to most. So it's been 40 years since he was a sports figure.

2. I thought this award had a shred of honor to it? Past winners?

3. Facebook article (so it's suspect) said the runner up is an Iraq war vet who lost an arm and leg but still competes in ultra endurance events? Is that true?

4. Ray Rices wife deserves the award more than Bruce. For remaining married to that heavy handed bastard.

5. Bruce still has a twig and berries? He is just a tranny on hormones for the sake of vanity until his cock and balls get lopped off.

6. What 65 year old woman is named Caitlyn? NONE. 65 year old women did not name their daughters Caitlyn. Their daughters named their daughters Caitlyn.

There was no "runner up" but it was still a monumentally stupid decision by ESPN.

I bet the Kardashians get plenty pf air time during the ceremony though.

Although Roberts was legit, I see a trend.

ESPN is only measuring what trends on Twitter. It's not really difficult to figure out their formula. Greenburg obsessed over trending Twitter topics around 3 years ago, and that terrible show became completely unlistenable.

ESPN is pandering daily to the #hashtag best moment of the day. It's horrible to anybody with a long view, but it's great for a daily money grab corporation. Caitlyn is a desperate media attention whore hashtag Kardashian money grab. It's pretty sad how easy it is for these companies to get clicks.

To give a prestigious award of courage for this is sickening.

I can't believe public abominations are now seen as courage.

WTF is this world headed to?

Why don't sheep/goat/animal frickers get courageous awards too?

Why highlight Jenner but not King?

FYI Ashe's family has come out in support of this year's award, so let's all remember: if you're bothered by anything that Jenner has done or is awarded, it doesn't matter that you're bothered.

Most logical comment all thread.

It's offensive to me that all American news organizations now think that "trending" and "newsworthy" are synonymous. But they don't give a shite about 40 year old men. They are going for narcissistic teenagers and 20 year olds who actually think Twitter matters.

You wouldn't have known who the past 5 winners were, if you hadn't looked it up. You don't genuinely give a shite.

Stuart Scott won a different award. The fact that you don't know that is proof of your faux rage.

This is irrelevant. On principle people are going to be pissed when an award designed to go to a courageous individual trying to overcome great odds doesn't go to one of those people but instead is used as a Kardashian publicity stunt and a shameless ratings grab.

ESPN is getting what they want out of this. Clicks, discussions, and more viewers when the ESPYs air. That is what it is all about these days...controversy and drama.
