Little known fact: Chipper Jones will still be in the jersey when it is retired and hung in the stadium.

Jones will also be forced to legally change his name from Chipper to Melquiades.

How so? One of the top 3 switch hitters of all time. Solid defensively for his entire career. 303 career batting average. How's he overrated?

.300+/.400+/.500+ for his career, more walks than strikeouts, around 450 home runs, highest slugging percentage of all time for a third baseman

I mean I guess it depends on how you think he's rated, but I don't think he's overrated.

If I had to guess, he's a bitter Astros fan the same way he's a bitter Saints fan

Angry that chipper will be first ballot and Biggio wasn't

The only other players to finish their careers with a 300/400/500 slash and 10,000 plate appearances are Babe Ruth, Stan Musial, Frank Thomas, Mel Ott, Ty Cobb, and Tris Speaker. If anything Chipper was underrated throughout his career.

.300+ from BOTH sides of the plate. I'm fairly sure he's alone with that stat.

Edit:
Fact Checked: Chipper is one of two players to bat .300+ from both sides. The other is Frankie Frisch.
