Brady's agent blasts reports

quote:
The Wells report, with all due respect, is a significant and terrible disappointment. It’s omission of key facts and lines of inquiry suggest the investigators reached a conclusion first, and then determined so-called facts later. One item alone taints this entire report. What does it say about the league office’s protocols and ethics when it allows one team to tip it off to an issue prior to a championship game, and no league officials or game officials notified the Patriots of the same issue prior to the game? This suggests it may be more probable than not that the league cooperated with the Colts in perpetrating a sting operation.
The Wells report buries this issue in a footnote on page 46 without any further elaboration. The league is a significant client of the investigators' law firm; it appears to be a rich source of billings and media exposure based on content in the law firm's website. This was not an independent investigation and the contents of the report bear that out – all one has to do is read closely and critically, as opposed to simply reading headlines. The investigators' assumptions and inferences are easily debunked or subject to multiple interpretations. Much of the report’s vulnerabilities are buried in the footnotes, which is a common legal writing tactic.
It is a sad day for the league as it has abdicated the resolution of football-specific issues to people who don’t understand the context or culture of the sport. I was physically present for my client’s interview. I have verbatim notes of the interview. Tom made himself available for nearly an entire day and patiently answered every question. It was clear to me the investigators had limited understanding of professional football.
For reasons unknown, the Wells report omitted nearly all of Tom’s testimony, most of which was critical because it would have provided this report with the context that it lacks. Mr. Wells promised back in January to share the results of this investigation publicly, so why not follow through and make public all of the information gathered and let the public draw its own conclusions? This report contains significant and tragic flaws, and it is common knowledge in the legal industry that reports like this generally are written for the benefit of the purchaser."

So, lets sum it up
"Hey my guy may have cheated, but watch this giant flaming ball of deflection I can shoot out my arse"

All just a bunch of bluster. Just come clean Brady. Fans usually forgive cheaters in time.

this is probably because brady REFUSED to give investigators his phone for access to text, emails, etc... because he had been texting the ball boy and had evidence that would get him. They knew brady had been in contact with the equip manager, and have records of it. Brady knew that if he gave them his phone he would be busted.

For what it's worth, the science organization they hired are pretty much worthless. They are on record saying Smoking nor Asbestos will give you cancer.

Ted Wells hired a consulting group that used to be called The Failure Group, Inc. They are now called Exponent. And they have a track record of harmful disregard of the truth in favor of pursuing the bottom line. They have claimed in the past that smoking doesn't cause cancer, that Chevron dumping oil waste didn't cause cancer (while the largest shareholder of Chevron was on Exponent's board), and that asbestos doesn't cause mesothelioma or cancer.
They are generally the first group called when a mega-entity is in need of a science experiment. Back in 2010, the L.A. Times published an article that stated, "Exponent's research has come under fire from critics, including engineers, attorneys and academics who say the company tends to deliver to clients the reports they need to mount a public defense."

It will be better when independent pundits come out and blast the POS report and not his agent.
The report is extremely weak fwiw.

No shite. Why is this even a story?
The only thing i find more hilarious then the absurdity of the NFL investigating it to the level of detail they did, is the accused parties increasing level of push back.

quote:That's his right. And that has nothing to do with an entire day's worth of interviews. Now you're basically saying they ignored his testimony to slight him? If that's what you're saying, that raises a huge red flag to the report's credibility.

Agree with everything he said.

A cursory investigation, a few interviews, and a $25k fine to the organization or Brady would have sufficed.

So, you think the NFL is inherently out to get Tom Brady?

Okay, but anyone who earned a passing grade in college physics will come to the same conclusions. The balls HAD TO BE DEFLATED.

Who in their right mind would give this to someone who is not investigating a crime?

Nice strawman, but I'm not getting roped into this debate again. I've said my piece, and I'm done, deflated footballs are not worthy of my time.
