@Buster_ESPN: As the dominoes fall:BOS signing of Napoli presumably takes them out of LaRoche conversation -- more reason for LaRoche to return to WAS.

A lot of money for a guy that is going to hit .220-.230 with 20-25 home runs

Yeah, gotta agree. But his douchebaggery will fit right in with the Red Sox.

I don't think they went after him as much for his bat as they did for his glove and versatility in the field.

Seems like a lot of money for a above average role player.

3 years is too much. I love Napdawg but he isn't having another 2011 campaign ever again.

I'm glad he has moved on from the Rangers. Always hurt, K's a ton, .220-.230 hitter.

Sox need to rebuild, and they refuse to do it the right way.

Good for them. Can never have enough catchers on one team.

Soto re-signed for a year... though I'm sure they're still in the market for another catcher to platoon with him.

You're the 2nd person who said this. He's a .260 career hitter.

And a lot of that is boosted by the .320 avg he hit the previous season in Texas....

2012 he hit .227 in 352 AB
2010 he hit .238 in 453 AB
Then 2009/2008 he hit .272/.273 in 609 AB
2007/2008 he hit .247/.228 in 487 AB

We are looking at a small sample size but the 4 season he managed 350 or more AB he hit .227, .320, .238, and .272.....
I don't see him ever coming close to .320 again and doubt in a full time roll he would be much better than .240 (although playing in Fenway may actually boost it as he has good numbers in Fenway)
