It was a done deal until ESPN and FOX decided to pay more money to the Big 12 conference for its TV rights,
you forgot to add the part about the pac 10 not wanting to take texas on when it was set on the LHN. you also forgot to add the part about how a&m not being on board with the pac 10 move was one of the major road blocks in the whole process. what a shock

I don't get this... Texas and OU aren't in a major conference? If that's the case, I suppose you think the only one is the SEC

Texas is still trying to figure out how they got out maneuvered. Just wait til that chain of Tech, Baylor, and TCU starts pulling when they try and blow up the Big 12.

Texas fans can say this is exactly where they wanted to be, but that's a load of bullshite. Nobody Wants to play that schedule. Nobody but the schools that have no choice.

Like Texas or not conferences will find a way to make room for Texas to come onboard. The main issue with Texas is the Texas Legislature, mainly Baylor Alumns, but including Tech and TCU need the Big 12 to stay in existence with Texas and OU. Otherwise it will become another second tier conference or dissolve all together. Their problem is the inequity within the sharing of the conference and the only schools they will attract are the schools desperate to join. It will continue to be the big two and all the little brothers.

Id steer to Big Ten, if I were UT and OU, but the stability of the Pac is a much better option for schools like UT and OU, compared to Big12. LHN would have to give its football to the other conference networks for first right of refusal of its lower tiers.

Big of you to say that. Props

Going to be interesting to see how things unfold from here, for y'all and for the big12.

From what I've read, the league wants to go ahead and make their decision on expansion before this season starts. We could find out very soon

The vibe here is that if its a two team expansion then Memphis is probably on the outside looking in, but if it's 4 everyone feels pretty confident.

If they add 4 and Memphis isn't in people are going to shut down I-40 again.

Thanks man! I'm not crossing my fingers. I know our chances are probably slim. I've been a diehard wave fan my whole life so either way...

Another team in TX would be a mistake. I would like to see Tulane in so LSU has some competition in recruiting.

nah

houston is an easy add.

houston, byu, cincinnati, then idk the 4th.

The Big 12 is a disaster, but I think Texas will be able to hold it together.

One thing is certain, A&M fans are laughing their asses off.
