Poor aggy. Still confusing "most obnoxious" with "most."

quote:Tulane joining the power 5 would allow the continuation of LSU vs Tulane. If the four schools agree, have LSU and Texas A&M play earlier in the year. Texas and Texas A&M to play on thanksgiving like they want and LSU play Tulane the Saturday after thanksgiving.
Tulane has potential that the Big XII can see. LSU fans obviously don't, and that's fine. I do wish that we had time to let our new coaches get cranked up and get a couple of winning seasons in football and men's bball.

You're not invited. Please don't ask again

Don't want to go.
I think if U of H is added to the Big 12, it'll be the end of any chance for aggy and TEXAS to meet on the football field again. And for that, I would be thankful.
Need to reserve the other games for non-Texas schools with a bigger name than aggy and let them continue to get cornholed and play toy soldier.

Don't lie. You want in.
It's ok. The answer is still no, though

Glad you've FINALLY moved on, I guess? Congrats

Yes. Because Arkansas leaving the SWC ended any chance of the Hogs ever playing Texas in football.
Call it a day buddy. When you find yourself in a hole, and you most certainly are in one now, the first thing to do is stop digging.

Your reading comprehension skills suck pig puss.
There are too many state of Texas teams on the schedule, if U of H is added.
Last I checked, the University of Arkansas is not located in the state of Texas.
Edit: Nevertheless, I would love to play Arkansas again, but Arkansas wanted to delay the last game under contract so they could let the Jerryworld aggy abortion play itself out.
I remember aggy talking about how that was going to become the premier Dallas game, surpassing Texas-OU at the Cotton Bowl. That little charade died pretty quickly, just like other aggy delusions.

The Houston metro area is surrounded by SEC schools now; sandwiched between A&M on one side and LSU on the other. That is not to say that UT has been locked out of Houston by any means, but over the next 20-30 years it would be easy for Houston to gradually become as much of an SEC city as Atlanta.

The common thought has been that the other Texas schools would block Houston, but now it is looking more like it may be the 6 non-Texas schools blocking them. And it makes sense. Almost all of those schools rely heavily on recruiting Texas and all 6 of them already believe that the State of Texas in general has too much power and control in the conference. They rely heavily on convincing recruits to leave Texas. Adding Houston keeps even more of those kids in state. Going with BYU, Cinci, Memphis, CSU, etc spreads the conference footprint and gives the conference more stability as opposed to being a State of Texas dominated conference.
The only way I see Houston getting in is if negotiations stall to a point of where the non-Texas schools feel they have to let Houston in or else risk not getting any expansion accomplished at all. Because UT doesn't really want to expand to begin with. UT would love to have another puppet to control like Houston. More schools outside of Texas mean less power for UT.

Cincinnati is the most popular school in the city. It has an enormous student population and most stick around. Tons of opportunity in the area. They are just good enough at both major sports to maintain year round interest.
Then, depending on football vs. basketball season Ohio state and Kentucky are next.
Yea, that is not even close to being true. Most students who go to cincinnati grew up ohio state state fans and still root for them while in college.

I think it's like what was being said earlier: It's too big and area for any one school/conference to effectively lock down.
The SEC presence there will continue to be strong regardless if what UH does, though.

how attractive would a big 12 championship game in the dome be?

It will, but having regular Big 12 games in Houston, including visits from UT, OU, OSU, and the other Texas schools would be huge.

are they wanting to add 2 teams or 4? have we heard anything from BYU yet?

Not sure, but 4 sounds better for everyone involved.

Tulane thinks it has a chance. lol. What does it offer? A small market that they barely get a piece of. Apathetic fan base? Below standard capacity venues?
Tulane is the epitome of mid-major, and the lower half of mid-major at that.
BYU and Connecticut would be the best choices for Big 12 expansion with USF and UCF being strong contenders as well.
Tulane makes as much sense as Cincinnati and shares the same qualities. When was the last time Cincinnati was a power in football? Like Tulane they aren't even the most popular team in their home city.

So Texas Tech, which I imagine would immediately fall behind UH in the sports pecking order in a Big 12 with UH, welcomes "consideration" of UH:
