They'd probably end up in the Holiday Bowl or Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl and end up traveling poorly for those, too, as the Holiday Bowl is in San Diego while the BWW Bowl is in Tempe, like the Fiesta Bowl.

We sold out our allotment plus more for the holiday bowl last year FWIW

I think that this will be a growing trend as far as bowl attendance. The playoff games will be massive successes, and more and more people will adopt the mindset "why would I care that much about a consolation game" (which is exactly what all but one of them are - consolation games).

Exactly. The consequences for not traveling well to BCS bowls that do not pique their interests include being passed over by other bowls that pique their interests even less.

If you don't give me $150, then other people aren't going to want to take $100 from you in the future.

There are 165,000 living Baylor alumni , almost double your 100k figure.

Conference Rival TCU not only bought all 17,500 tickets in 2009 but asked for an additional 10,000 more in 2009.

And they were playing a team they had already beaten the year before as well.

Something to keep in mind when discussing conference realignment.

TCU fans are better than Baylor fans at showing up to games when they have a good team. (but TCU fans don't show when they are bad.)

INB4 Aggy comes in making fun of Baylor for being at a BCS bowl and not selling tickets (something they have never been too).

This is false. But it's been 15 years since they lost the Sugar Bowl

What's the worst performance by a BCS team with regards to ticket sales?

It has to be Northern Illinois

I am sure it just tears them up that in some year in the future when they are 8-4 they'll get a crappy bowl on the 27th instead of the 29th.

1999 Sugar Bowl: Texas A&M vs. Ohio State

Figures that a Baylor fan wouldn't have a clue that football began before Robert Griffin.

Well, technically, they had to make space for the tarp of shame.

They're well known within the Big 12 for travelling poorly to anywhere further than College Station.

They couldn't even sell their allotment for their final game in College Station...with Robert Griffin...and their last chance to show "Aggy" who was boss before they went to the SEC.

Of course, 55-28 happened...

Butthurt Aggy fan. As long is Briles is in Waco, you have 2 big brothers.

Deal with it

Your 2nd best team ever got destroyed by a 6-6 A&M team 55-28.

Your best player ever went 1-2 vs. A&M, including blowing a 30-14 lead at home. (the only time that Mike Sherman overcame a 2-score deficit, instead of blowing a 2+ score lead)

Briles has the same number of wins vs. A&M that Guy Morriss does.

The only metric Baylor can possibly claim "big brother" about is age (1862 comes before 1876)

All that aside, congratulations on winning your first outright conference title since 1980. Only 12 more to go to catch A&M...assuming we don't win another ever.

Yep. and 10K graduate students.

I believe only Arizona State has a larger total enrollment.

I'm kind of assuming that. The five schools who left the SWC/B12 to get away from UT have played a combined 31 post-UT years and won 0 conference titles. When Aggy runs out of its own Kool-aid, you'll see.

In the next 20 years, I bet Texas wins more conference titles and national titles and has more playoff appearances than Aggy/Colorado/Nebraska/Mizzou/Arkansas combined.

i hear you guys on the buying tickets through AD, but when it comes to getting invites, the shite matters.

MU fans stopped buying from MU AD on ceratin games, because the seats were f'in horrible, and ended up buying on secondary market. Most donated their tickets from AD. Well, bowls claimed MU didn't travel, which was horse shite, and would frick them, when they could, for hayseed schools who had nothing better to do, than buy it from their AD of their school.

When they played Iowa, MU had to eat tickets, but MU fans and iowa fans crushed stubhub for tickets.
The tickets from AD were horrendous, but stubhub had lower bowl and cheaper. I believe they were close, don't quote me, from near capacity(vs other games in that stadium) And when MU played Piggies in Cotton bowl, both schools sold out, and bought the stadium up, in an hour.

it's a double edged sword, only because the bowls can dictate selections.
