Why does everyone slide feet first now in college baseball. I don't think I ever did that. Is it safety or statistical arrival time?

If you slide correctly feet first you can pop up more quickly ready to take the next base. If you are on your stomach its kind of hard to pop up. It's also safer

People always said this but I never bought it. If you can do a simple pushup you're in essentially a runner's start position from a head-first slide. The pop-up slide is gay. You can also aim a headfirst slide better.
