20 year old top prospect Jordan Lyles will make his MLB debut tonight against the Cubs. He will officially be the youngest player in the league when he throws his first pitch. I don't know a whole bunch about the kid but people rave about his make-up so I'm pumped to see him through tonight.

By people, you mean MSU?

ETA: He will not have been the youngest player in the majors this season.

Can he pitch every night? If not, there is nothing to get exited about.

I know right. I was expecting a 6 AM start time.

Jordan is my age playing in the bigs. That blows my mind.

The good news is that he gets to pitch against the Cubs.

The bad news is that he's really nothing more than a middle of the rotation starter.

He will be a solid number 2 type pitcher. He will be an innings eater. He has great command but does not have ace type stuff yet.

Oh I know, it's just nice that the Astros have fast-tracked a prospect and will make his debut relatively soon after being drafted.

Looking at the list of youngest Astros starters, hope he's more like Dierker and less like Jeff Juden.

I never said it was a good thing? He could get rocked and never be the same. Its just exciting to have a young kid up there and not being nursed along for once in this organization
