Has done a great job at Baylor. UT should hire him at the end of the season, seems like a natural. He is born and raised Texas guy.

Briles ain't going anywhere for the next few years. He is gonna be a pain in UT as well as A&M'S arse for awhile no matter what anyone says. Guy is loyal to a fault by all accounts

Not happening. He helped raise all the money for the new stadium, and it will eventually be named after him someday.

Plus, he hates UT and everything they stand for

if/when LSU needs a new coach Alleva should go to Waco and not leave without Briles. Blank check time.

He does seem like a great loyal guy. However, it's UT and the money and the gig make it possibly the best job in the country. He could argue he is being loyal to his state and making the University of Texas and the majority of the state happy. If they call with 5 mill, he is gone and NO one would blame him. Realistic Baylor fans know they are not UT.

Texas will eventually go back to being Texas, and go back to being the Big 12 power.

Oklahoma won't stay down forever and should rebound soon.

I think TCU is in a better spot long term than Baylor due to their location in the metroplex. Defense wins championships and TCU still has the best D in the league, they just need an offensive coaching staff.

Also I think eventually defenses will adapt to these gimmick hurry up offenses like defenses adapted to the wishbone.

Part of Baylor's success this year is due to the Big 12 being down across the board. No, I don't think its down because Texas/Oklahoma are down, it is down based on raw numbers. Baylor has benefitted.

Last year, 7 of 10 Big 12 teams ranked in the Top 17 nationally in offense, this year only 2 teams rank in the Top 25.

Good points, the one thing I disagree on is the gimmick offense. Yeah they go fast, but man I watch them run the ball down the throat of teams every game it seems. They are down to their 3rd string back and he is running for 150 every game

Officially, under his current contract, the buyout is $5 mil.

The problem is that it is attached to a 10 year $45 million contract that you are going to have to top.

Realistically, you are going to have to show a similar level of commitment to a Briles administration for the long term.

Baylor is opening a brand new, fantastic stadium; he is revered in Waco; he can struggle through three or four bad seasons, and he would still be Baylor football.

Even assuming you get past all of that, the starting price is likely to be $50 million, plus the complete turning over of the program for at least the better part of a decade.

Solid coach

If Miles fails to right the ship next year I'd gladly take him
