I don't know as much about baseball as most around here, but, money aside, this worked out for the Yankees, right? They basically loaned Chapman to the Cubs for half a year and get to keep the prospects they got in return.

Too risky. He's 1 more violation from a long suspension.. plus he got stretched a bit far this year. I hope the Yankees protected themselves in the deal.

Got to see him in person in sept during lambo trip. Holy mother of frick dude can sling it.

Good for him. Reminiscent of billy wagner. I hate the Yankees but I will always pull for that guy

Cubs got a ship and got Wade Davis to close this year, so their set. But could they have gotten Miller with the same package they put together for Chapman or did that extra year of control make him more expensive? I have no idea what the Indians gave up for him. But that was, obviously before his all-time playoff run.

As a cubs fan, I'm perfectly ok with this. A WS was worth it.

Besides the 7th game collapse, the deal still looks great to the cubs and the Yankees begrudgingly for me came out smiling..

Chapman, 28, cannot be traded to a California team and cannot be dealt at all in the first three years of the contract.

I wander if this is because of the strict domestic violence laws in California.
