No way they jump the Packers, but are they better than the Lions?

Peterson is gonna run wild. I say he carries them to a wild card.

i like the defense they've put together.

especially the young LB's... Kendricks and Barr.

Harrison Smith is an underrated player IMO.

I think they lost a starter on the O-line to a bad injury though.. Phil Loadholt?

tough to say in the NFC though... usually a log jam.

the nfc south winner could easily be 9-7, 8-8, or 7-9 all over again.

meaning a good team gets left out.

a few years ago the ARZ Cards got left out with a 10-6 record but their division was a lot better then

I think they can be. Teddy was the best rookie QB last year, and adding AP is going to be huge.

Getting tons of hype this offseason. I say no playoffs. 9-7.

Teddy was a good QB under Charlie Strong. Texas now shows that's not easy.

They are not

They are a reprise of the 90 Cowboys. Good but not good enough yet.

If everything goes right, sure. I am hoping for 9-7, but I do not expect them to make the postseason barring Rodgers missing more than half the season.

Sullivan just hit the IR designated to return and Loadholdt is out for the year. They are arguably their top two lineman.

I like a lot of their wide receivers, but at the same time, they are far from a great WR core. Charles Johnson could emerge. Jarius Wright is nice. Diggs has been really impressive.

I would think the defense will be above average, but linebacker is still likely a weak spot. The good thing is that the type is so young. Could be a top 10 defense if Smith stays healthy, Rhodes and Barr continue to progress, and Griffen continues to be very good.

Without a doubt on that front; losing both Suh and Fairley up the gut is going to decimate that Detroit defense.

They're going to go skating backwards so fast, they might lap the Bears for the bottom of the division.

The lions got Ngata though so they will be fine up the middle. I don't see the vikings being ahead of the packers or lions and I don't see them being able to get the last wildcard spot.

Ngata is almost exclusively a run defender at this stage in his career, though-- and there is no one else on that DL or in the linebacking core that is going to generate pressure.

They'll be alright in run defense, but the late season DVOA ratings for that defense, after Suh and Fairley started missing time last year should be a giant warning for people who expect them to not fall off precipitously.

If the Bears had a pulse, the Lions would be a mortal lock to lose 10 games.
