What kind of shite is that, anyway? An hour for random people to call in asking some unknown fantasy expert if they should start Jimmy graham or Delanie walker?

Who thought this would be a good idea?

People are obsessed with fantasy football and it kills an hour the host would have to fill otherwise. You're right, but I see why they do it.

I think they have a whole XM channel now. I would rather have entire shows and channels dedicated to it, so I know to avoid them. That said, Paul Charchian is pretty fricking funny on Steve Czaban's show every week.

It's horrible to listen to. Similarly awful is any conversation about anyone's fantasy football team ever that isn't an intra-league conversation.

I dread going to kitchen at the office on Monday mornings.

For me its gambling segments

Pretty much any gambling segment is just a tout acting like he is an expert in order to lure people to their tout scams like lambs to the slaughter

I've been blocked by SVP, Dan Patrick, Colin Cowherd for telling them on twitter that their "sports handicapping expert" is nothing more than a lying scamming long term losing tout.

I don't do sports gambling, but I love when Norm Hitzges talks about it because I think it really is his picks so he gets real defensive when his bets are wrong

It's the only reason that football is as popular as it is today.

I met a local guy at a tailgate a few years ago who started a business of serving as a fantasy football consultant. That reeks of the sort of thing, two months later, you're defending it to your wife/girlfriend/friends/family "No, I'm close to making money off of it! I got some calls after I was on the local sports talk show and one guy almost hired me!"

I heard the national ESPN fantasy football show last year -- runs early Sunday mornings. I bet every guy on that show was wearing sweatpants at the time of recording.

Fantasy football radio does a MUCH better job of breaking down games/matchups and analyzing teams than anything on ESPN.

90% of sports radio is just clutter these days.

I turned it on Mad Dog sports today and they were talking about Cam's comments regarding the protests. Who gives a frick?

I turned it on ESPN and they were talking about Colin Kaepernick receiving death threats. Who gives a frick?

I want information about the games/players/matchups.

no, sports radio hosts who think they are also comedians and waste countless hours of airtime on awful joke bits, pranks, and stupid songs are the worst.

it also sucks when they think they should cover pop culture and do entire segments on tv shows that they so casually watch they still can't name several main characters even though it's 5 seasons deep but then want to rant on how something didn't make sense to them.

Our local (Ruston) ESPN outlet has a segment called "Beer, bets and body slams".

Some guy who owns a liquor store recommends a beer or liquor for watching a specific game, makes a few betting prognostications, then talks about wrestling.

They will basically run any shite segment as long as someone will sponsor it.

Oh dear God yes.

I used to listen to Buddy D and they drove me crazy. Some crook droning on and on about some crap game because of all his numbers. Like you need to take the Bills over the Browns because the Bills are 11-2 against the spread in games played on natural grass in September since 2004. And he'd say it in this cult leader voice and repeat it for effect 2 or 3 times. I think a couple of times I'd get hypnotized and almost drive off the highway.
