Good Lord this game is crazy. The Rangers score 5 in the bottom of the 1st, and the Yankees respond with 11 runs in the top of the 2nd. 11 Runs. Absolutely crazy.

No way to watch it thanks to MLB blackout restrictions.

MLB: New Orleans is considered driving distance to Arlington.

Not any more I'm not.

And the Rangers want to trade away top prospects to get a pitcher who is 23-30 over the last three years? I don't care if he pulls a Johnny Vander Meer and gets two straight no hitters, he's simply not worth the price the Phillies want.

Let the Dodgers give up a bunch, at least they're in pennant contention. The Rangers chance to ever be a real contender left in 2011.

I think Rangers will be contender next year. Pitching will be back

That requires too many assumptions:

1. Perez can successfully recover from TJ surgery (for every successful surgery there are many, many more who never get back to where they were)
2. Darvish (see above and remember he's older plus he's always had high pitch counts)
3. Holland can avoid a 3rd year of significant DL time.

Plus they still have the albatross contracts of Choo, Andrus, and a good bit of Prince's (plus they added Hamilton's though very little of it) and outside of Prince this year they have nothing to show for all that $$$.

The Rangers window of contention slammed shut in 2011. Unfortunately like the bird who can't tell that the bird he sees is his reflection in a window, they went straight in and crashed.

It does when it's been declining every year since 2011 until now (and it's not that much better this year).

And what do you make of a team who has more road wins than the best team in baseball (the Cardinals) and less home wins than the worst (the Phillies)?

First off, that's not even true.

He won more games in 2012 than he did in 2011, and more games in 2014 than he did in 2013.

Anyways, it's really dumb to use wins as your argument in the first place. The reason he's not winning as many games is because the Phillies suck, and have been less and less committed to winning at the major league level each year since 2013.

Hamels is gonna give you 200 innings every single year, and he's a very good pitcher on a pretty reasonable contract all things considered.

I'd love to have him on my team.

I want a complete reset. That was one of the most virulent and complete destructions of a team I've ever seen. From the top down, it was completely ugly. Don't know that I've ever seen a 2b have to perform pitching duties. fricking humiliating.
