So you're well versed in Geno Smith's practice demeanor?

Which do you guys hate Cam for more at this point? Bending LSU over and going in raw or doing the double over Drew Brees in his 2nd year in the league?

I agree with him on Smith. Did he say anything negative about Robert Griffin last year? If so, then people could complain about him, but I don't think him being down on Cam Newton and Geno Smith (both vastly overrated IMO) is much of a pattern.

He's overly harsh, but I definitely hope that the Jags don't draft Geno. I'd rather not draft another bust QB in the Top 10.

I hate him because of that time he led the Panthers to a winning record.

At the same point in Brees' career he was benched for Doug Flutie and replaced by Philip Rivers. GFY

How was he wrong about cam?

We're gonna say someone was wrong/right about a prospect after their second season?

Moronic.

This guy is the contrarian scout writing for shock value. All you have to do is read his review of Smith vs Barkley.

He writes that Barkley is a natural leader who had too many bad things happen his senior year (implying that these things were out of his control) and that Barkley can be a cross of Brees/Colt Mccoy.

Whereas Geno has no passion (which was said about Eli and Flacco before they won superbowls). Then he says that Geno's body wasn't muscular. Yet, didn't Geno show surprising athleticism and speed at the combine.

Geno is a 70% thrower. 5 to 1 career TD /int ratio. That's top tier for Air Raid system qbs.

He mentions Geno lost 6 of his last 8 games. I check the logs and see that WVU gave up 50+ points routinely. IS that Geno Smith or bad WVU defense/coaching?

He was also dead wrong about cam.

You are missing the part about becoming a newly minted millionaire and having the maturity to motivate yourself, be a professional, and quite importantly lead your teammates while being the marketing face of the multimillion dollar franchise.

More to it than play on he field. I guess you guys missed the parts of the season where Cam acted like a child on the sideline and in the media and was ripped by the media and his teammates.

Jeff George is the perfect counter to "what does personality and behavior have to do with play on the field."

Actually it's a thread about a certain "journalist's" opinion of Geno. The Cam stuff is relevant because it proves how retarded said "journalist" is. Try and keep up, TIA.

Sounds like he's saying what most are thinking or see. Didnt say Smith kicks cats, just said he isn't as good as some are assessing as.

I think he is trying to get some publicity by being overly critical but he's not necessarily wrong. I think Geno will go too high but mainly because this QB class is blah.

I don't see a true week 1 starter in the whole group, so it would actually surprise me if Geno did start on opening day.

I remember a QB who was making jokes om the sidelines after he threw a pick six.

His name was Brett Favre.

Did Andrew Luck have a better first year than Cam Newton? From a wins perspective yes, but what about from just numbers?

Damn. Geno has got several knocks/question marks about his game and transitioning to the pro level, but work ethic and being a "student of the game" (Geno is a notorious film rat) are definitely not some of them.

And how the hell can he knock Geno's production due to the fact Geno had two great receivers, and fail to mention the fact that Barkley had Woods and Lee (you know, the fricking Biletnikoff winner?) as receiving targets.

I fail to see the outrage here. Any rational person can see that Matt Barkley looks like a 12-14 year NFL QB and Geno Smith does not. Sure, it doesn't mean that will be the case. But percentage wise, Barkley is more likely to be a better NFL QB than Smith.
