I truly believe that Antonio Brown is this generation's Jerry Rice, as in he is the greatest receiver in the NFL in this era, and will possibly challenge Jerry Rice by the time his career is over as the greatest receiver of all time in the NFL.

Brown has it all, smooth route running, great hands, breakaway speed, intelligence, you name the attribute, he has it. I only wish he was on the Saints. Can you guys imagine how perfect a Drew Brees/Antonio Brown combo would be?

So what do you guys think? Antonio Brown as the next Jerry Rice? Share your thoughts.

He's the best receiver in the league right now, but of this generation? How narrow is your definition of generation?

I think his skills will deteriorate over time and he will regress as he severely lacks from a physical standpoint. Remember, Calvin Johnson possessed all the traits that Brown did too early in his career and has amazing size and he is already regressing. I think what makes Brown so great above all is his athleticism. Wants that starts to go, he doenst have the physical presence to stay elite.

With all that being said, I do think he's the best WR in the league and has been for a few years and will continue to be for at least the next 5-6 years.

Well, Jerry Rice retired about a decade ago, but his prominence was in the 80's/90's, so about twenty years ago he was at his peak. So every twenty years is a generation in my opinion.

I think if you replaced AB with OBJ he'd be just as successful with Big Ben.

He's trending upwards, but I'd still take Moss and Megatron over him at this point.

If Brown would catch 10 Tds a year until the age of 40, (120 more) and add that to the 38 he currently has.

He would still need 47 more TDs, which is more than he currently has in his six year career. Comparing any WR to Jerry Rice isn't fair.

Jerry Rice is like Pistol Pete for college ball, there will literally NEVER be anyone that will come close to even touching their records, period.

So to answer yo question, no.

Brown is 27 years old, he's totaled 7093 yards and 38 TDs in his career. In the last 3 years, he's averaged 1677 yards and 10 TDs a year.

Jerry Rice has 22895 yards and 197 TDs in his career and retired at 42.

Brown has to average 1053.5 yards and 10.6 TDs for 15 years until he's 42.

Just to give you an idea of how hard that number is, Rice's last 7 years totalled 6440 yards (920 AVG) and 42 TDs (6 TDs).

Gotta also avoid injuries as well. Calvin Johnson had a better chance at 27 years old with 7836 yards and 54 TDs.

Julio Jones has a better start right now and he's 26.

AB is awesome, but no way close to Rice.

Just like when Tomlinson was going off and people wanted to make him better than Barry Sanders. Then he fell off a cliff.

Best WR now without question.

Pump the brakes on the Rice comparison.

For example.

Brown just finished his 6th year. Here is Jerry and Brown's stats after 6 years.

Brown: 7093 yards 38 TDs
Rice: 7866 yards 79 TDs

If I remember the situation correctly, I love the way the contract negotiations between the Steelers, Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown went down.

Wallace: PAY ME! I'm holding out until I get that big money.
Steelers: How about $42 million over 5 years?
Wallace: Not enough. Still holding out.
Steelers. Ok. Screw you. Antonio, you want that same contract?
Brown: frick yeah.

Not even close to Jerry Rice. He has a much shorter window as well.

Only 2 wrs have 1499 yards in 3 straight seasons.

Only 2 wrs had 110 catches in 3 straight.

AB is two of them.
