Kentucky and Florida fans won't like this, but Bennett cut Florida from his list of suitors last week and this weekend did the same to Kentucky:

Anthony Bennett is now just considering UNLV and Oregon. Decision likely coming soon.

Seems like UNLV will be the choice now, but I really thought he would be Kentucky bound and step right in as the starting PF

I was very surprised to just read that as I thought he would be a perfect fit in that offense.

Jefferson has been very quiet recently but you have to think Kentucky will put the full press on him now

Might be better in the long-term as Bennett had one and done ability, Jefferson could be a solid 4 year player for them.

UNLV's been in the running for some guys... CBB is better when they're good and everyone accuses their recruits of hanging with shady characters on the Strip

maybe they want to hang out with Money

Just got the Runnin' Rebel book so I'm hoping that it's an interesting read

I believe there have been issues with his SAT score (not qualifying). Sticking with UNLV means he doesn't have to take his SAT again.

He did not drop Florida and Kentucky. It was the other way around...grade issues and partial qualifier issues.

This is common practice for players to "drop" schools after they've been dropped.

Allows the kids to save face...and the schools need to allow that if they want the coaches and handlers to feed future players to the schools.

Does the Pac-whatever have lower academic standards than the SEC?

I'm with you, that seems ridiculous to me. Unless Oregon is just willing to wait and see if he qualifies at the last second and the others want to move on. Sounds like it's UNLV either way.

Has to be your scenario. Oregon is just waiting out hoping he fully qualifies. The Pac 12 is probably the most academic of the big 6 conferences. No way they have lower standards than UK. Could be wrong and maybe it's just Oregon but you'd think the Pac 12 has conference wide standards.

Is it a given that the kid doesn't have the grades or SATs?

There's a conference-wide minimum and it's the same as the NCAA minimum. The only two schools that raised their standards are Stanford and UCLA.

I am hearing that Oregon is bringing in a kid for an OV this weekend that plays the same position. Looks like things are pointing to UNLV.

Word is Bennett may have issues qualifying. Florida first stopped recruiting him...then this past weekend, UK got some info that would prevent or would be a problem of Bennett getting into UK.

Trust me, I would LOVE to have Bennett, but sounded like it would be a major task to get him to Lexington. Will be interesting to see if he does play this coming year.

Reason why he has not committed to Duke or NC State. Cal told Jefferson to hold off, he may have a spot if Bennett did not work out.

Also, look for former NC State guard to get an offer from UK...he has one more year of eligibility left and suppose to be hitting over 43% from the 3. With him and Harrow, that will take care of the guard play.

Some things have come up this past weekend. I found it strange he dropped Florida since they have been recruiting him hard up till last week.

If I recall, I thought Fidnley Prep has had some issues and questions about their academic standards and whether they are legit.

I believe so. It's why UNLV will be the team to beat. He has the ACT and the GPA to attend in state, but not the SAT to attend out of state. Oregon is willing to take the risk and wait on him to qualify. UK has some other guys they can move on to, as does Florida.
