TCU makes a historical comeback after all thought they were done for and left for dead and comes back to retain the Legit National Championship. TCU heads into the off-season w/ the belt two years in a row now.

I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul

Yep, I took it all the way back to the first 11 on 11 game in 1871 and accounted for the games against non top level schools and the military bases in WWII.
Other similar concepts start in 1971 or post WWII

If they lose to Arkansas next year that belt may never leave the SEC

You need to bump your thread so some understand.

I'm more worried about if you can handle this Sun Devil game.

No. It's similar. I answered some of the questions that could complete the lineage and I disregarded the earliest games when it was 25 on 25 and points were on a different scoring system.
I basically started w/ the first 11 on 11 intercollegiate game that was in 1875 b/n Harvard and Tufts and I tracked the belt, winner take all style game by game to present day.
In the earliest years if a game was against a non-collegiate team, or as was popular in the early 1900's to play high schools or athletic clubs, those games were non-title matches.
in 1941 the belt would have ended b/c military bases played college teams and they were the best teams in the land from all of our grandfathers that got drafted. This is one of Bama's contested championships.
I deemed military camps as non-title fight exhibitions as they were not collegiate academic institutions.
I did this back in 2009 to promote a sports gaming website I was involved in. Been thinking I should go chase a couple sponsors and get an actual belt made. I contacted the Frog Club last year and got some interest from TCU's athletic department but with the job I had I really couldn't get away to travel to games to award the belt and such. That's not an issue now that I'm working for myself again.
I think it's a good way to motivate a team and for a fanbase to get excited about their team.

I love the idea of a belt. Would be cool to also have a "cruiser weight" title for non P5 teams.
