He knew about all of it. You aren't that successful of a coach without knowing every single thing going on in your program. He is so arrogant he just figured he would never get fired no matter what was happening.

Pitino is telling the truth and he had no knowledge of what his assistant coach was doing?
Believing the blame of rogue assistants once, shame on you.
Believing the blame of rogue assistants twice, shame on me.

So we're using the Sgt. Schultz defense. I know nothing!
I think it is feasible that the assistant didn't want anyone else to know since he was gaining so much monetarily from the situation.

Pitino is a super control freak. There isn't anything going on in his program he doesn't know about

Here's the issue with Pitino.
When Chris Jones got wrapped up in rape allegations, it was "I know EVERYTHING that goes on with my program, I KNOW everyone who comes in and out of Minardi Hall, etc". He literally spent a whole press conference when it broke telling the world that it doesn't happen on his watch because dammit he's watching.
Then the Katrina Powell situation comes along and it's "The cameras were broken in Minardi Hall, I was depending on my assistants to do that, etc.".
When you talk out of both sides of your mouth like that, you lose your credibility. And the reality is, he should've been fired a long time ago. All the Interim President will need to do is make the case that he wasn't there for the previous fireable offenses, so he couldn't strike until he gave him the ammo to do so again.

Pitino is a politician first and a coach second

Yeah, we can put your mind at ease about that one right now.

The difference is Pitino is one of the all time greatest coaches, the highest paid coach last year, who has been in the news recently for other infractions. Pearl coaches at Auburn, not exactly a traditional power

Pitino lost the benefit of the doubt a long time ago.
Tough shite if he's telling the truth.
Tough shite if he's telling the truth.

If he didn't, it's willful ignorance.
Pitino loses.
Pitino loses.

First rule of being in management.....it's always your fault.
Guilty or not, Pitino is accountable as the head of the men's basketball program, which is already on probation and now being rocked by the FBI/ Addidas/recruiting scandal.
How many lives do you want to give the cat? Of course, let's not forget the $3k mistress and the abortion.
Read news accounts from various sources and you walk away with one thing...Pitino is a bad character.

Has anyone stopped to think that maybe, just maybe, Pitino is telling the truth and he had no knowledge of what his assistant coach was doing?
Even if he had no knowledge of what was going on, it looks terrible for a head coach who is supposed to be responsible for his program. How incompetent of a coach was he if he knew nothing about the strippers or shoe bribery?
Posted on 9/28/17 at 7:52 am to LSUGrad9295
Ignorance is not an excuse for the way his program has been run for years.

If a dog has bit 10 humans, it really doesn't matter if the 11th bite actually happened or not.

Of course you're playing Devil's Advocate! You concluded your opening statement with "attack away" thus implying opening the door for people to attack the strength of this argument lol

I don't disagree...and I am somewhat playing devil's advocate, but when I read about the Chuck Person situation, I fully believe that Bruce Pearl had NO idea what was going on there, yet there doesn't seem to be the public hanging for Bruce like there is for Pitino....and Bruce ain't exactly squeaky clean himself. So I guess I am asking, what is the difference?
Well Pitino is a vampire and Pearl isn't.
