I honestly would take Bill Russell over MJ and Lebron. The man was the greatest winner and clutch performer in the history of team sports. His defensive impact was insane. The Celtics were #1 in defensive rating in 12 out of the 13 season in the NBA and they were usually #1 by a substantial margin. With all things being equal, I would trust his team to come out on top over everybody else's.
Very interesting

Bird over Shaq is debate-able. Everyone here who thinks he is not top 10 never saw him play and are using stereotype bias. Dude was unbelievable. Hell, Mark Jackson said he was the best SF ever, until Lebron.

And no... MJ >>> Shaq and it's not really that close.

You put Shaq up there with Lebron and Jordan. Your opinion should automatically be discounted. Shaq literally got swept out of the playoffs every single year until Kobe came of age.

Bird over Shaq? Dude. I'd have a very, VERY tough time between MJ, Lebron, and Shaq. And would probably end up taking Shaq.

Maybe it was confusing how I said it. I basically listed all the players who would be choices for #1, and I included Shaq. I didn't include Bird. But I think it's tough to say Shaq had a better career than Bird. So I didn't want to get jumped on by the "dude How can you say Shaq and not bird" poster that would've come along.

Essentially, I'd easily choose Shaq over Bird for starting a team. But Bird had a better overall career, imo.

How'd MJ do in the playoffs without Pippen?

Bird had a pretty short career.

But I didn't mean to come at you or sound like a dick

Tell me one single time Pippen took over a playoff game on the offensive end of the floor. MJ carried Pippen a lot more than Shaq carried Kobe.

He was in the east when the bulls were steamrolling their way to 6 titles. He literally had to go through Chicago every year (except 94-95) when he was in the east.
