Chiefs will trade second-round pick this year - the top pick in second round - as well as another conditional mid-round pick in 2014.

Please tell me he's trolling........

SF just Sanduskied KC hardddddd

I seriously figured SF would, at best, get a sixth-rounder in return for Smith

Why dont the Chiefs have the 33rd pick?

From Wiki:

quote:

Non-playoff teams with identical overall records rotate through their collective draft positions. Playoff teams that lose in the same round and have identical overall records rotate through their collective draft positions. Each round, the team previously at the top of a rotation drops to the bottom, while each other team moves up one spot: for example, Jacksonville will have the first pick in the second round.

KC and JAX both finished 2-14

Eh Alex Smith is worth a second round pick, really not that bad. Essentially they traded their QB pick.

Nevermind didn't know it was for the 31st AND 34th...

Still though it could have been worse.

Well the Chiefs did pay the same price for a less experience and more expensive Matt Cassel like 4 years ago

meh... I've seen worse. The Cardinals got bent over by the Eagles in that Kevin Kolb deal.

Smith is a much more proven commodity than Kevin Kolb.

No surprise. This was imminent the moment Reid was hired.

Pats also sent Vrabel (not that it matters) and it was for only one pick

They are going to make a lot of movies with the ridiculous amount of picks they have

Nice move. Smith isn't great but he is a good game-managing QB. It's not like KC needs to go 14-2 in the AFC West. 10-6 can win the division.

Run the ball with Charles and Smith can prosper nicely by throwing only 15-20 times a game.

I came here to post exactly this

welp....I posted that before knowing KC burned two picks on him, one being No. 33 overall. That's a lot.

Smart move if it pays off I guess, but that's a steep price

Yeah I just read about those picks. SF fricked KC hard. Seems like they're going to package some of the picks for a big trade. I could see them trying to make a move for harvin

ETA: I mean I see why Alex smith makes sense in KC, I think he can play well there, but he's not worth all those picks

If y'all think that SF trade raped KC, wait until Smith's agent gets thur with the Chiefs. Smith is due $8.5 million this year and then becomes a free agent.

Its not.

SF already has the 31st pick because...that's their pick. They got 34 from KC.
