curious to know who ya got?

I would give it to Price this year. I know Justin has more innings pitched but Price has only had one bad outing since the all star break and has been a sure W in the column for a team that was in the wild card chase down to the end.

Verlander and it really shouldn't be close

more innings + the difference in defenses and ballparks more than make up for the .08 difference in ERA

It's simple. One's a beast and the other is not.

I believe Verlander will be fighting against the "you already won the award" syndrome and they will vote to give it to Price since he has been in contention the past few years.

Price. Better ERA and better Record. No big difference in strikeouts or BAA.

I have seen worse but there is no objective argument for Price over Verlander

The frick? Price is amazing.

Verlander should probably take it again, but Price is probably going to get it because he has 3 more W, 3 less L, and a lower ERA.

Verlander, while Miggy wins the triple crown.

Verlander.

Trout is easily the MVP though. Can we agree on that?

Have no idea how you don't give the first triple crown winner sine 1967 the MVP.that just seems wrong.

Price and verlander seem pretty even but I agree verlanders award last year might hurt him

I don't know. Maybe that Price has a slightly lower ERA while Verlander has a slight advantage in strikeouts/9. Price has a lowe walk rate/9 and both have similar HR rates. Verlander's entire advntage in "value" stats is because Comerica is rated as a hitter's park, which I personally think is inaccurate. Comerica used to be an extreme pitcher's park, and now suddenly it's an above average hitter's park? Something is fishy with Comerica's park factors and I'm not going to rate Verlander higher solely because of park factors which have fluctuated wildly.

And I find the arguments for Trout for MVP to be unconvincing (also, the flip side of the park factor argument). Cabrera is my MVP.

Verlander lost the AL home field advantage for the World Series. Give it to Price.
