This is the stat i'm seeing a lot of talking heads use to partially explain voting for Judge.

They are voting for Judge because he plays for the Yankees.

If Altuve has this season for the Red Sox he would win it easily.

Altuve and Arenado.

Judge is only a top 4 guy with having worse than Beltran numbers for 1/3 of the season.

Ehhh...Judge is deserving. As for the strikeouts, baseball is evolving towards a 3 true outcome type of hitter. Judge embodies that. Guys like Joey Gallo & Kris Davis are also good examples, obviously, Judge is better. I think Bellinger fits that mold too. I'm not saying I like it, but it is effective. Of course Votto found a way to cut down on Ks and increase his walks & power numbers. But he's always done his own thing, and it works.

You forgot defensive stats...

Ks, hits

Of course the media is trying to justify Judge, it's literally their job. They believe baseball is better if the Yankees are more notable.

I saw 5 posts saying Stanton will win it. Stanton has almost no chance because he didn't play for a contender. Goldschmidt will win it in the NL.

Or maybe because he leads the league in HR, R, BB. Second in RBI. Second behind Trout in OBP, SLG, OPS, and wRC+ (but Trout only player 113 games). He’s first or second in WAR depending what site you use. He was better than Altuve in every stat besides AVG and SB. And despite having a lower average and striking out over 200 times, he still got on base at a higher rate than Altuve.

Basically if you can look at their stats and say Altuve had better stats you’re either a) an Astro homer b) a Yankee hater c) retarded

Don’t think you can go wrong with either Judge or Altuve and I’d prob vote for Votto but don’t have any issue with Stanton winning in NL. I can’t wait to see how the NL vote is spread out

That's potentially 200 times a runner didn't get advanced or .140 times a runner didn't get from 1st to 3rd. Obviously that's the extreme but minimizing 200+ strike outs is dumb

You mean how Judge has a UZR of 6.3 and DRS of 9. And Altuve has a UZR of -2.0 and a DRS of 3? Ok.

Because Altuve does it all. He has 50 more hits than Aaron Judge, 15 more doubles, 23 more stolen bases, 124 less strikeouts, a higher batting average by 62 points, and a higher WAR.

Altuve has also been caught stealing 6 times, and Judge has 69 more walks. As far as the doubles go, Judge more than makes up for that in the home run department.
