I am all for having more super teams and then every year the bottom 2 from the East and West get relegated to the NBDL sort of like euro soccer. The first half until Cleveland started turning the ball over was damn exciting.

This could help prevent tanking and if relegated to the NBDL any player not on a rookie contract could be traded away for one season or until that team moved back up. Would also allow teams to go down to the NBDL like the Lakers and Sixers of the past year and develop their talent.

How did you come to the conclusion that the NBA needs less teams after watching game one of the NBA Finals?

I'm not following your logic...

This might come as a newsflash to a lot of people but the relegation system they have with the soccer leagues in Europe is backwards and horrible.

The NBA does need contraction.

And a true minor league.

Not on board with relegation.

The NBA fans and takes are weird. "We want to see GREAT teams. Not a bunch of good teams competing for a title." Doesn't make any sense. Parity is good for any sport, and, no, we don't need super teams.

You don't see people clamoring for the Patriots to sign OBJ/Antonio Brown/Leveon Bell so there can be star studded super teams in the Super Bowl instead of a bunch of "pretty good" teams vying for the title.

It's stupid how NBA vets are cut in trades then get to hop on contenders

Not at all, they just need to either get rid of the max salary or increase it quite a bit. Max salaries means that elite players don't have to give up much to join a super team. Take them away and 3 stars would eat up more cap space than a team could afford.

NFL is set up for parity with one player other than qb not really making a huge difference. Without a hard cap and the fact one player can take a team to the finals (Shaq, Duncan, Lebron) the NBA does not have parity and never will.

Just move the Pelicans to Seattle and change their name to the Sonics and call it a day.

I want to relegate anyone suggesting NBA relegation to the soccer board.

Using that logic the NHL needs to shut down. First 2 games of the finals were uncompetitive and the Pens are about to win back to back Stanley Cups.

This is a product of the sport. There are 5 players on the court at a time and those that are good enough, like the ones you mentioned, are able to control games. No sport will ever have every team decent to good all at once. It goes in eras. The Lakers and Knicks used to be good and now they suck, but they will both eventually be good again. The warriors super team is an outlier that exploited a loop hole and will be dealt with in the next CBA.

When I saw the title, I thought someone had laced Boom's usual crack rock with LSD.
