BountyGate, Adrian Peterson, Ray Rice - every recent high profile punishment has been too harsh and overturned, fwiw

Don't forget Hardy. I think his will get significantly reduced.

Why are the Patriots so worried about the suspension? I'd be way more pissed about the 2016 first round draft choice. This post was edited on 5/13 at 11:07 am

I think boom roasted just perfectly summed up how I feel about the last 8 years of NFL football

Athletes belong on the field. I would also like to add "coaches belong on the sideline"

I like the NFL disciplinary drama for drama only. It has no impact on how I enjoy the on-field product.

People bitching about the integrity of the NFL amuse me. Listen, I don't want women beaters and child rapists out there, but that typically isn't the issue. I'm also aware that the amount of NFL grief exhibited on this board is probably excessive due to the Saints' popularity here.

The NFL and Goodell are a fricking joke. Anyone who thinks this whole deflating thing is a big deal is also a joke. I don't understand saints fans railing against Beliceck and Brady and the patriots, "IGNORANCE IS NOT AN EXCUSE DOY DOY DOY"

The patriots aren't our enemy. fricking goodell and his corporate bullshite nfl cronies are.

If goodell is primarily motivated by the best interests of the league, then he's failed once again.

This had faded into the irrelevance it should have been afforded from the get go

Exactly.

I will say this: don't bite the hand that feeds you. Brady and the Pats going against the NFL could mean repercussions later. Not saying he shouldn't fight this, but needs to be more cautious about certain aspects

Don't bite the hand that feeds you? Sounds like better advice for Roger goodell. I imagine the next time his arse is on the fire, Kraft won't be there to bail him out

That's utter bullshite. Should definitely be at least three games.

The fact that the Jags play the Pats week 3 has no bearing on my opinion either...

Breads and circuses during offseason. NFL is not stupid. It is all a dog and pony show.

I am pulling for him,

If he wins it just makes Goodell look more incompetent.

The gloves have apparently come off as Brady and the Patriots have lawyered up. They are about to unleash an unholy legal firestorm on Goodell and the NFL.
So, like rapists and murderers that get off free, Tom Brady hires an awesome set of lawyers and won't get any punishment. My question is, who cares? His legacy is tarnished in my mind due to Deflategate and Spygate, and the perception of him and his organization will never change in my mind.

And it doesn't just stop there. I wonder how far it extends beyond the current New England Patriots staff...
quote:

The Denver Broncos and Josh McDaniels have each been fined $50,000 for taping the 49ers' pre-game walk through before the game at Wembley Stadium earlier in November, per Jason La Canfora of NFL Network.

La Canfora also reports that Steve Scarnecchia, who was on a leave of absence, was fired from the team, and will be under further investigation from the NFL and a ban from the league is not out of the question.

Scarnecchia was the man behind the camera for Spygate I, making him a repeat offender to the league. The league also indicated that if any more evidence comes to light, there will be further discipline from Commissioner Roger Goodell.

I'm still pissed that Pat Bowlen allowed that New England Patriots filth into the Denver Broncos organization. Thankfully, both of the clowns mentioned above are gone and not missed.
