Has to be one of the bottom WR cores in the NFL without Crabtree.

1. Boldin
2. AJ Jenkins (0 cathces)
3. Quinton Patton (rookie)

TBD Mario Manningham (recovering from torn ACL)
TBD Kyle Williams (recovering from torn ACL)

We aren't a passing team anyways. Huge injury but if one player /position on the team is expendable its that one.

If it were Gore or Willis I'd be very concerned.

Kaepernick will make the group better and I trust the coaches to bring along the other guys.

Get better crab! They are going to need you in December.

Crabtree looked like he was finally turning a bit of a corner, looked less and less like a huge pussy. This sucks for him

I would think that DL/LBs would be considered the expendable position on the 49ers simply bc of the depth they have there. Not WR, which they have none

Or are you just saying that WR was never a strength so it really doesnt matter

You're being a bit overly optimistic IMO

I think he meant for the regular season.

It's the postseason they will really miss him.

I think it will have a huge effect on their offense. Kaep will not be as effective running if his passing threat is weakened this much. They will be able to adjust but I think it really hurts them

I can agree with that. It seemed like Kaep had a great connection with him too. I think this tips the balance of power of the NFC West to the Hawks.

Im not trying to gloss over a impactful injury but he wasnt the leader on Offense. His run blocking will be missed. His 3rd down conversions and YAC obviously too. But IMO losing a Gore or Willis would be a HUGE hit to their respective units. We never had an "elite" recieving core so while this may require other guys to step up, of which AJ and Boldin are two, it doesnt bury our season.....in May.

they have a lot of options at WR

Options? Maybe. Proven players? Meh. I really like SF, but I think this is big. That AJ Jenkins pick was horrible. Maybe he can get it going.

It's big. Won't affect the postseason berth but could mean the difference between seed #1-4 or #5. Not much margin for error. I'm assuming he'll be back for the postseason but who knows if he'll adjust to previous form in time.

Jenkins' time to step up. The General too.
