30-year-old Adrian Peterson or 27-year-old DeMarco Murray?

With the rumors that Adrian Peterson may want to play for the Cowboys (LINK ), who would you rather have if you were in the Cowboys' shoes? Would you rather sign a 30-year-old AP or re-sign a 27-year-old DeMarco Murray? That's how old each will be when the new season starts. Thoughts?
Personally, all else being equal, I'd probably take AP. I think he gives them the best chance to win now.

depends on what salary we are talking. If i can get ap for much cheaper definitely ap... if salary pretty much the same, demarco. Rbs are a dime a dozen

Murray - played at an all-pro level last year, is familiar with the Cowboys system, 2 years younger.
Peterson - basically had a year away from football, 2 years older (30, which is usually when RBs decline rapidly).
This seems like a no-brainer to me. A.P. is one of the all-time greats, but Murray is the far better choice right now.

I would think Murray will command more money as well

AD would set the rushing record running behind the Cowboys O line.

Probably AP just because you can get him on the cheap. Dallas has serious cap issues to deal with, they need to save money where they can. IMO the current talent levels of both players is close to even.

Frickin this. Give me AD over Murray

AP would not come on the cheap in any situation.

You can probably get AP cheaper now with his recent off the field issues.

Murray just turned 27 a couple weeks ago.

AD.
Murray's basically had one good year.

Depends on how long you believe the Cowboys window is open. If they want to go all in on a 2 season run, go with AP. You won't be tied to him long term like you'll have to be with Murray.
Murray had one hell of a season last year, but can he repeat the same workload AND avoid the injury bug again?

I beg to differ. 30yr old RB fresh off a big scandal, who missed almost the whole year?

Only exception to this rule is the Patriots.
