My family would be rich today if Cumberland had covered the 220-point spread. My great granddaddy had them in a trifecta.

You should all go read the story on this game if you haven't.

John Heisman is a huge dick who basically forced regular Joe college kids with no practice to play against the best college football team in the country and then decided to run up the score

the previous spring, Cumberland ran the score up on Heisman's baseball team, beat them 22-0

you say this but cumberland hired their coach on the assurance that their wouldnt be a rebuild and that he did in fact know how to cook a mean gumbo

GT had 6 first downs for the entire game while piling up those points. That is just as remarkable as the score.
