Although I don't speak from experience, I would imagine that most attempts at humor regarding a divorce don't come across as planned.

I agree, but if majors are what counts as goat status than he has to figure out how to peak at four or five different weeks of the year.

Namely, the week of majors.

He qualifies majors as GOAT status. I think because he set the bar, people ask what's wrong with him when he doesn't win a major. Anybody else had won 5x this year, they would be a "shoe in" for Player of the Year.

Tiger is a "shoe in" for player of the year right now. Who else is going to win that award?

Season is not over. If Phil wins the FedEx, it will be a close race

Player,

With a sub category of PHOTY, which of course goes to Vegas Pro. I guess we could call it the Vegas award, whichever poster hated witht the most impunity.

The whole GOAT discussion is getting dumb at this point. First of all, Tiger has a career to finish. But even if he got hit by a truck tonight, there are plenty of stats that favor Tiger being the GOAT right now. In fact, pretty much the only stat Jack has in his favor is the majors. Granted, that's the one Tiger says is most important, but Tiger doesn't get to decide which stats count and which don't.

1) Tiger's career is not finished - no shite, but that hasn't stopped his knob gobblers from proclaiming him the GOAT. Those that say Jack is the GOAT have allowed for the fact that Tiger could catch/beat him, but that until then, Jack IS the GOAT.

2) It's "just" wins at majors. It's a whole lot deeper than "just" wins at majors:

Master's records:

Most wins - Jack (6) (Tiger - 4)
Most 2nds - Jack (4) (Tiger - 2)
Most Top 5s - Jack (15) (Tiger - 11)
Most Top 10s - Jack (22) (Tiger - 13)

US Open records:

Most wins - Jack (4) - tied with Jones, Hogan and Willie Anderson (Tiger - 3)
Most 2nds - Mickelson (6), Jack (4) - tied with Snead, Jones & Palmer (Tiger - 2)
Most Top 5s - Jack (11) - tied w/ Willie Anderson (Tiger - 7)
Most Top 10s - Jack (18) (Tiger - 8)

PGA Championship records:

Most wins - Jack (5) - tied with Walter Hagen (Tiger - 4)
Most 2nds - Jack (4) (Tiger - 2)
Most Top 5s - Jack (14) (Tiger - 7)
Most Top 10s - Jack (15) (Tiger - 8)

British Open records:

Most wins - Harry Vadon (6) - Jack and Tiger each have 3
Most 2nds - Jack (7) (Tiger - 0)
Most Top 5s - Jack (16) - tied with J.H. Taylor (Tiger - 6)
Most Top 10s - Jack (18) (Tiger - 9)

ADMITTEDLY, Tiger's career is far from over (he's got at least 7 years of quality competative golf in him), but he's got a lot of work to do to match that level of success on the biggest of golf's stages!

if he stays healthy, he has at least 12 years of competitive golf in him.

pga tour wins mean more than top 5's in majors.
