Not sure why you don't ask to work remotely out of the satellite office and make appearances 1-2x a week out of the main office.

A lot of places get hung up on working from your home and not the "remote" aspect.

Have a friend who works for a national firm in NOLA. They are encouraging it. Their Dallas office reduced its office space by **4 Floors**, thereby saving a boatload of office lease expense. High connection speeds and nice PCs make it a breeze today.

Im an Attorney. Office in DC and EU. I deal with lawyers, clients and govt officials globally, daily-from home. Skype for not so private meetings, secure encrypted network for real work. Best move I ever made

Sadly, there are so many people who cannot be trusted to work out of the office.

Working remotely will almost always be a career limiting move if you have aspirations to move up the ladder in a corporate function.

If you are in sales, then the numbers will be the most important factor so you may be able to make that work.

The trouble with being remote is that you are forgotten. Leadership doesn't see you walking the halls and it is a struggle to stay top of mind even if you excel at your role.
