Where to look for sales position?

Been trying to get a buddy to get a new job. He is overqualified an under appreciated/paid for the job he has done for his current company. Been trying to get him to switch back into O&G field which he had been in for years but left when the bottom fell out. He is finally to the point where he would make the jump if the right job presented itself, says he hasn't been looking too hard though bc there are not a lot of openings. Any recommendations on a place to look for listings? Figured I would do a little looking and email him some to kick him into gear.

The best way is to contact company that he is most interested in working for. Find out person in charge of hiring decisions and make it a point to talk to this person.

Best not to send a sales cover letter and resume until decision maker is located. Will show a lot of initiative and perhaps separate from the pack

If he's not motivated to look on his own what makes you think he'll follow up on anything you find? Not trying to be an ass, serious question.

Looking for a job should be approached as a job, at least if you are serious about it.
