There are banks that handle this for a charge and a holding period. Check with the biggies...Bank of America...Chase...Wells Fargo.

I'm guessing CAN, because I get checks from a Canadian company all the time but they're in USD and have never had a problem.

I agree, but same. I have several clients in Canada but they send me checks made in USD.

To the OP, can you ask them to send you a new check in USD?

Try TD (Toronto Dominion) Bank. There may or may not be a branch in your city. The closest to my current location is Wilmington, NC.

what kind of bank do you deal with? I have cashed online gambling checks from Canada and Singapore many times. Now, my bank is hitting me up with an international check fee, but it goes through.

They won't accept it as a deposit to your account with them? (Not cashed but deposited.)
