You should contribute 10% if your employer contributes 10%. That is free money you are missing out on.

Match up to 5% plus end of the year profit sharing. Profit sharing has been typically 10-12% of salary.

My current one is 50% up to 6%. So if I put in 6% I get an additional 3%. It is not great but the profit sharing and bonuses are solid.

My match maxes at 5% (100% for 3%, 50% for 2%, so 5% contribution to get 4%).

Same as this guy. Good funds too, so happy to contribute 15%

Mine is the exact same, and we do typically get annual bonuses. Wish it was 100% up to 5 or 6 though.

Wife works for Department of the Army, and she gets 100% up to 6% plus a bonus 1% I believe.

50% match up to the federal limit plus 4-8%(depending on how well we did that year) of your salary as 401k bonus at the end of the year.

100% up to 5% and then a certain % based on your age.

So basically if I contributed nothing to my 401K right now my company would put 2% towards it.

I've been contributing 7% since day 1.

This, plus an annual 2% contribution

I think the 2% is not necessary a given, but it's been given every year that I've been there

I contribut 6 and my employer gives 6 for a total of 12

Whatever it is, if you can afford to, contribute 15% and be sure it's a "before tax" contribution. Never touch it and be set for retirement. I'm in the stages of life where I can put 24K per year. I max it out every year. I'm catching up from a divorce in 2000.

Ours goes up based on years of service. Like 3% at first up to 9%.
