What's the best bank to have a standard checking and savings account? I have Chase. I hate them though.

Chase is the best as far an operating account IMO. I love their online site. As far as earning interest, I would say UCB

Wells Fargo has been great for me.

Currently I have a checking and HELOC, and I also had mortgages with them.

ATM's are everywhere in Texas, and their online system works well. When I have called or gone to the bank, their employees have been competent and pleasant.

It really depends where you live. I have Capital One and have stayed with them for general banking because they have had locations near the last 3 places I have lived and where I work. If you have a large savings account I would take a look at online banks.

Beat me to it so I'll give a serious answer. Iberia.

They're so good that I stayed with them when I moved to the MS Coast, even though the closest branch is about 25 miles away.

Totally depends on your needs. I use Schwab for just about everything and have been very pleased. If I need to deposit a check, I snap a picture on my phone and upload it.

That said, it isn't a B&M bank so if you need a safe deposit box, a money order, etc. that's another matter.

Me neither, and if they ever make a mistake, they clean it up quickly.

I have a checking and savings with them, and I have another account with Perkstreet for the 2% cash back debit card.

Also have a 1.85% Money Market with a Local bank for my emergency fund that I got many years ago, can't find anything that beats that yield at the moment.
