Starbucks. Most of the staff is college kids. Nice working environment. Decent pay and flexible schedule. And because the college kids move on to something else after graduation there are always openings available.

learn how to wash and lightly detail cars. don't have to go crazy, most people just want a clean car and a quick wax

Thanks for all the advice. I'm in Metairie, going to UNO for business administration. I was considering AT&T but I believe all part timers have to work weekends and well, I have some football games I'm planning to attend. Starbucks wouldn't be too bad I imagine, or at least hope not lol.

My big regret during law school was taking a bullshite runner/clerk job instead of something that could actually pay the bills (and tuition). If I were you I'd look into selling something. Insurance, real estate, cars. Whatever. These are jobs for which you don't need a degree and pay when you close a deal. A much more valuable skill than tending bar or waiting tables. Of course, the downside is that you start making $40-50k/year and start taking semesters off... don't do that!

This is mostly rehashing things that have already been said here, but the right answer really depends on your situation (family money situation, intended career, connections, etc.).
As I see it, a college job comes down to three things:
(a) Income.
(b) Flexibility.
(c) Preparation for your future career.
Ideally, you want to max out all three, but those jobs are few and far between so you really have to decide what is more important to you.
I think that everyone should work in the service industry or do some kind of manual labor for a stretch. I have a feeling home-repair is about to be booming in Louisiana.
I would suggest against taking jobs that look ok on a resume but where your role is not really tied to what you want to do (unless you see a way to transition into a different role at the same company). I had a couple of those and in hindsight no subsequent employers really gave a shite about them and there were other options providing more money and/or free time.
