I would think it much higher than that. When you look at all the cookie cutter homes in the $300-400k range coupled with nice cars in the driveway and realize that there are a much higher percentage of those than there are six figure salaries.

I think 75% is a realistic number. And 90% of that 75% is driven by women.

I used to date a girl where we wen out 3 times a week. That shite gets expensive real quick. We are not even talking about the food. She was spending money to "look good" when going out.

Shoes, clothes, jewelry, makeup, accessories, hair, nails

This.

My wife and I both make good money. We don't have car notes or cell phone bills. We have small student loans we are paying off, and a mortgage. I don't feel like we should even consider paying for some of the things I see others doing.

I look around and scratch my head at the thought of these jokers paying for multiple car notes, huge mortgages, new cell phones every year, the biggest cable packages available, nice vacations, etc.

I have to remind myself that there are very few of those folks who are doing that without being in crazy debt.

I'm in the same boat except i slayed my student loan 3 years a god. I just have to deal with the mortgage. How do you not have a cell phone bill. You just use a LAN line?

Sounds like some people just chose to enjoy life while they're young and you're banking on living long enough to hopefully enjoy life in your 60s. No need to judge people who have a different view.

Very small tip of a very large iceberg. Good effort at trying to take it out of context. Now back to our story.

Household income of $120k can easily support a $300k house, and two modest car notes.
