Which is the better app for sending/receiving money between friends (like when you're splitting expenses for a trip, tickets, etc)? Paypal, Google Wallet, Venmo or something else? I've always been old school and given the other party a check or cash (yes I'm a dinosaur), but when the other party isn't local, which is the better option? I found out the hard way that Paypal charges a fee for this. Thoughts?

Everyone charges a fee to use a credit card, paypal is free if you use bank account and select family/friends.

I've used the cash app.....easy and free. I think it's owned by Square.

Venmo is the easiest, in my opinion. I also use PayPal and Chase QuickPay.

My mom is in her late 50s and uses Venmo, so there's that, too.

I use venmo because that's what my friends have. I love it.

What is the turn around time on Venmo (for you to get the money from your friends)?

Venmo would have my vote as well. It's what 99% percent of what my friends use, so it makes it way easier on me in both receiving money and sending money.

just today I bought tickets for me and some friends to do something...I let them know in our facebook group chat that I had already bought the tickets and it would be $42 per person...they all immediately sent me money through facebook and paid for their stuff within 5 minutes. Facebook's send/receive is stupid easy, and fast...makes me feel dirty to say it, but it's great.
