Pretty sure the AA card is only a 30k signup bonus at the moment

Fyi high season starts in May , it's 22.5k or 45k per person during high season, off season which starts in September is 17.5k or 35k per person round trip.

I have flown for 17,500 each way during all parts of the year. Just last August I flew to NOLA for 17.5 and had to spend 22.5 on the way back. Unless AA changed something, you can get 35k RT all year round if available.

I am planning a wedding /honeymoon for September 2016 in Hawaii, will be flying out of Dallas more than likely though. Since March my fiancé and I have both accumulated 130k miles mainly from AA credit card sign up bonuses.

You'll be able to fly non-stop from DFW, worst case 1 stop. Book whatever you get for the 35k (or book one way at a time which is what I do a lot) and then keep searching and if a better route opens up change it for free.
