You can't worry about share price, it's about percent growth.

My 5 shares of Apple have netted me more dollars than any of my other stocks that I have 25-100 of over the past two months.

Really will probably be back to $190 very soon, hell PSX missed earnings this morning fell from $59 to $56.99 and is now $61.25 AFTER missing earnings haha Visa smashed earnings last week, this is really a silly sell off the market is beyond irrational at times

it's down 7% for the day at the moment, that is just ridiculous for a large $150B+ company growing by leaps and bounds, I don't care what restrictions are placed in the United States, the bulk of Visa's growth is abroad anyways, truly unwarranted.

I don't have the cash on hand to buy like you big guys do, but I may put in an order and grab a few shares.

Has everyone on the MT bought into Visa? Just reading this thread, I feel like one of the only posters with no Visa stock to his name.

I got some. And if you have any decent domestic mutual funds, you probably have some too.

Put it this was it was $194 this morning and none of the companies fundamentals have changed. It's still growing like crazy this is just a blip on the way to $200 soon

I don't own any either. It seems like a decent buy, but for a dividend growth stock, it has a high buy-in.

If I had some more cash laying around, I might put some in on the down-tick. I just don't have enough right now to dump into it.

Nice call tom, you will be happy in a few months.Im willing to bank on it going to back to $190 soon. I actually sold september $190 puts for $14.90 today, that would be a steal to get the shares for $190 + basically a $14.90 dividend in 2 months.

I got in 10 shares at $178 on the upswing before it dropped back down. Annoyed I missed it when it went to $170.

Mastercard actually went up on earnings today. Wouldn't it be impacted the same as Visa? Weird.

mastercard doesnt have the debit card exposure of visa.....that's why visa was hammered. I honestly think anything under $190 is a steal, visa initiated a share buyback the other day while the shares were at $190 and if Visa didn't mind buying its own stock at $190 you should LOVE to buy it at $177. I personally think itll be back to $185 in the next day or 2, it's too solid a company with too strong a balance sheet and phenomenal growth prospects to fall to 10% off where it was when it mashed earnings again last week. It was $194 this morning!!! Nothing changed besides this one ruling which probably will be appealed and im sure tied up in all kinds of appeals for a long time.

Honestly if retailers don't like Visa's fees, they are free to accept cash only. I know 90% of my sales are credit cards and I could imagine switching to cash only would bankrupt me, so i just suck it up as a cost of doing business, visa is not the bad guy, the retailers crying like little bitches have the option of not accepting credit cards, it's such a joke how we've become such a nation of whiners and we sue when we're unhappy.

Is it dumb to only buy in for like 10 or so shares???

What's their dividend look like usually?

It's not dumb at all, the visa growth story is just beginning, with 20% of the modern world using credit cards and growing. Visa is poised for insane growth in the coming years and combined with inflation resulting in higher percentages charged for them, the growth of the world's largest credit card company is seriously going to be epic and their earnings results recently just cemented that.......in my opinion, but im biased bc I see just how much money I pay in CC fees every month at my stores.

10 shares of coca cola in 1973 would be worth about $38,500 today and be 960 shares after all splits and dividends reinvested.....just checked on my phone app real quick....so no it's never silly to buy just 10 shares.

I put in an order to by 5 so if 10 is considered dumb then what does that make me.....

I only own 7 of XOM...I figured I am just starting out and I will purchase more over time.

Scottrade for me. To be honest, I really don't think it matter's for just buying/selling stocks. I have been doing most of my research on Yahoo Finance so I really could have gone with a broker that has a lesser commission. Mine is $7/trade

Scottrade for me as well. I use it along with Google Finance and Yahoo Finance for research and news. ST seemed to be one of the most recommended brokers when I was searching for one. If you want I'll get you a referral code and we can each get a few free trades.

I got in V today with only 7 shares. Figure it is better than nothing though I wish I had more in my account to throw at it right now.
