Vehicle Prices as they relate to Gas Prices

Is it safe to assume that if gas prices continue to rise and hold a little high for 2-3 months, that large SUV and full sized truck prices may drop a little?
Or, will it take a long period of time of lacking sales to really see a drop in the larger gas consuming vehicles prices?
Im in the market for a used vehicle (either of the two types listed above) and I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

I'm hoping by the end of the summer if gas prices hold or rise I'll be able to get a large SUV for cheap.

I just bought an 07 tahoe Thursday. I thought of waiting for a while to see how low prices would get, but I got a fairly good deal on the one I bought so I couldn't pass it up and wait and see what happens

If you are happy with the deal, that is all that matters.
The last time I didnt wait, the government introduced "cash for clunkers" the month after which wasnt retroactive. Missed out on about an extra 3500 in trade in.
Different situation obviously but Im trying to wait as long as possible because no note currently is great. My '03 truck though is on its last leg so Im just trying to time the swap perfectly.

Oh yeah timing is everything. I didn't plan on buying a truck on Thursday.
I traded a 05 grand Cherokee that needed 2 new bumpers and 1000 dollars worth of ac work done. They gave me 6000 for it, which I was happy about cause even if I had done the work to it I just couldn't see getting my money back.
And the best thing for me is that I know a lot of car dealers cause of my line of work. And they gave me the tahoe for 500 over their cost.
