I almost invested some pretty serious coin in bitcoin when it first hit the scene but thought the Feds would shut it down; was I wrong.

Is it too late to jump on board?

nobody can do anything but guess. 2nd gen cryptos are rolling out and they will be safer/more secure. I'd personally be studying those and not waste time on bitcoin at this point.

Don't look at it as an investment. Call it what it is. It's a gamble.

Definitely not too late, but nobody knows what's going to happen in the next few months, much less the next few years. There is a hard fork coming with s2x in November, I believe, so many folks are just chilling to see what's going to happen there.

I picked up two coins at around $2,220 each using my profits from ETH. Put them on a hard wallet and will forget about them. Curious to see what happens.

Crypto (short for crypto-currency) is a generic term for digital money. This encapsulates bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, etc.
