Apparently TIVo has a 1terabyte hard drive that can record and skip commercials for Antenna OTA shows also gives you a guide which gives it the feel of cable even with the antenna hookup.
Does anyone have this? This would be great especially during football games so you can pause live if friends and family are over.
There is no monthly fee but the box is $399

I have a version of this.....box was $50 and we pay $9/mo. Digital antennae stashed ins the attic, wires run inside the wall. Drive is not that big, prob half a terabyte. But it has a hookup for an external hard drive, so I'm not concerned about running out of space. The box runs on Linux.

there are many good DVR options out there at lower price points and no subscription requirements.

While you consider TiVo, also consider tablo ota dvr as well.
