So I've just learned that specific brands of children's clothing can yield some serious returns.

My wife's favorite brand for instance, Well Dressed Wolf, releases a new dress every week or so and the dress sells out within seconds on their website. The dresses retail for about $60-$80, which apparently is "cheap" by high end boutique standards, but if you are lucky enough to "cart" one of these dresses, you can turn around and immediately sell this dress in the secondary market with a 100% mark up or more!

It's insane to me.

My wife "carted" a dress last night for a fall photo shoot and intends to sell it as right after. This dress is already seeing offers of up to $200.

So my question to the MT is how can I exploit this further?

You would be better off getting into shoes if your intentions are to buy a "hot" item and flip it.

well my wife manages a kid's boutique, so we do have an "in"

and since her store doesn't sell any of these brands, it wouldn't be a conflict

Hell I wonder if I could write a script to buy these things the second they go on sale and then post it to ebay... Make it a passive income stream.

I still have a strong desire to buy and resell these things.

The day my wife went into labor earlier this year, I was on Ali Express all day looking at childrens clothes and shoes, sending messages for samples and shite. Later that night all of that got shut down

I know someone that owns a used clothing store for kids. They buy a lot of this boutique stuff and "high end" brands for dirt cheap from women that just want to get rid of it. They then turn around and sell it for 1/2 to 3/4 of what it sells for new. Moms come in there and drop hundreds upon hundreds of dollars at a time because they think they're getting such a great deal and they're putting their kids in shite they normally couldn't afford.

Their shop is printing money right now.

That is exactly what people do with shoes... they setup "bots" to hit most of the big releases. The shoe companies are trying to work around these things so that legitimate customers are the only ones getting the shoes but it is tough. I would guess the child boutique market is ripe for the taking

You two should team up since you have a retail store already.

My mom goes to this New Orleans kids boutique exchange/sale place twice a year when they have their big sale. She buys tons of clothes for my kids that are mostly very expensive and about half still have the original tag on them.

Well Dressed Wolf frenzy is toward the end of it's run. You missed the heyday by about 18 months. Yes you can still turn a small profit, but you missed when you could resell certain items for 500-1000+ profit. Yes, there were people buying these dresses for their 2 year olds for $1000 dollars.

I know this because my wife is a photographer and had the inside scoop about these dealings. My wife personally knows a lady in New Orleans who was spending 20k+ a month to buy these dresses direct from the maker and reselling them for a hefty profit through facebook.

People would buy these Well Dress Wolf clothes and have professional pictures made and then resell the dresses immediately. It's been going on for years.

Just created an account.

How much does this shite sell for, and do they have notifications when items are posted for sale?

sneaker bots and also the google page change alarm. My wife used to be into Matilda Jane which was popular before the Wolf stuff. They would not announce when they would release things just release it, so I had a chrome browser monitoring their site and setting off an alarm. Then would use the bot to cart stuff. The problem with that stuff is if you sit on it too long it loses value and also it's impossible to do in any kind of real quantities beyond 4-5 items. So it's a lot of work for little actual return even if you are making 100% margin.

Though if your daughter will wear the stuff it can be worth it for 1-2 items at a time, then sell to make the money back and profit to buy the next.
