I'm interested in hearing any MB suggestions (serious) for stocks to take a long position. I'm not a trader, looking to hold the stock at least 12 months. TIA

Why Kroger?

Seems like Amazon with the Whole Foods transaction and Lidl coming to the states grocery prices are going to be under pressure. Great for consumers, doesn't seem great for shareholders.

Are they going to be able to ship cold foods at a cheaper price?

If I still have to drive to the store and pick up cold items I'm not dealing with a two day wait as well.

not sure you wanna add kroger anytime soon boss, Im pretty balls deep in the options market and this bazooka came through this morning

Kroger (KR) buyers of more than 9,000 April 2018 $22 puts today for $2.25 to $2.30, name which is facing a major disruption to their industry with Amazon and could see multiple years of margin contraction with pricing pressure from Whole Foods. Just a little $2M+ bet on KR dropping....

They've been unfairly treated by Amazons buyout of Whole Foods.
Krogers bread and butter is food stamps, pharmacy and fuel which is not under threat at all (food stamps aren't available for online use)
In the short and medium term Kroger should be a decent play

That's a name I haven't seen in a long time, though admittedly I haven't been active on TD for the past few months.

My vote is amazon, its not everyday you get the worlds best company for $140 off its all time highs. I still think we may test the 200 day moving average of $889 bc the chart is ugly but overall $50 on amazon wont matter if you're never gonna sell. The utter domination that AWS brings is unmatched and Amazon will still probably go 5-10x in your lifetime if not higher.

Wow, great suggestion. Your contributions to TD are immense. I'm sure your parents are proud.

Appreciate everyone's input. Decided to add to my position in BABA.

They told me so back when they were around. Both have been deceased for quite some time now. Thanks for the encouragement.

I like AT&T, big company that is paying 5.25% dividend, also like Coca-Cola.

KR, Walmart and food deflation are their competition not Amazon
