My stock broker I've had for about 12 years has switched companies for the second time and would like for me to come over to her new company. She has always done a good job for me. What are the merits for switching to her new company and are there any considerations I should make for staying with the present company? I'm seriously considering switching.

What service(s) does this broker provide you? Simply order execution? Assistance with complex options spreads?

Obviously it's pretty rare to use a live broker these days, so I am genuinely curious. Not belittling.

I'm guessing this person is a "financial advisor" and not a stock broker

It's likely a broker dealer block transfer for the rep. Shouldn't cost you a penny. The rep is probably going with a firm that pays them more.

The business has become so commoditized these days that if you like her and trust her then go.
