Startinga kids party business

So after attending our tenth consecutive weekend party at a kids gym/blow up bounce house place I got to thinking. How much would this be and would it be successful?

I'm in a booming market in the burbs and eh are booked weeks and months in advance.

My buddy said the insurance is dirt cheap because all parents sign a waiver releasing the place

What do you think? It's $200-$400 per party and included is about 60 minutes of playtime and cake and pizza

All the workers are between 16-20 so labor costs are nothing

I once heard that those bounce houses are $3-5k each. So you're probably looking at $20k or so for the houses. After that, a couple of fridges and a cash register is all you need... And a building, of course.

ETA:Looks like they're even cheaper than I thought More like $1500-2k each

Aren't you the poster who started a thread a couple of months ago about taking a job with a new employer who was a competitor of your ex-employer and you were asking for advice how to deceive your previous employer to keep paying you right up to the day you left to go work for the new company?

Yes Russian and I love my new job. Like I said we were pondering the idea with the other dads. Just curious what other people thought.

Settle down. I'm just curious

Aren't you also the guy that also got "busted" at the gym?

Might want to run this one by the boss.

YES it's all me! Lol

Jesus just curious if anyone thought that was a good investment. I'd be a partner and put up the money. Could still do my job.

Just messin with you.

I honestly have nothing to offer other than "it seems like huge headache and time monopolizer"

I'd figure out how much you can make with just a couple bookings a month then figure out if its actually worth the time or not. Ask yourself, how much do I value my free time?

In my experience, businesses that are relatively cheap to start, and cheap to operate are also garbage.

I wouldn't put so much stake in your waiver. It still wouldn't excuse you from your cheap labor and the lack of awareness they will display as it relates to liability.

Liability insurance is through the roof, not to mention the real estate/warehouse and electricity costs to keep them inflated/cool warehouse.

do it you never know until you try. you would get all your money back with the blowups or at least most of it. its all about location and being close to new families that have kids in that age. they have a place on siegan lane and they are doing great. that place is always packed.

One on Jefferson in PVille had like 20 parties scheduled on a Sunday.

$300-$400 per party X 20 is $12K-$16K per weekend.

Hire some girls in bikinis. It's the only way the dads will show up.
