Sprint has been taking a beating. Is anyone else following this stock? I bought in yesterday evening thinking this stock was oversold. Any thoughts?

Didn't they have a failed merger or something? Same thing happened with TWX.

Yes a failed merge with Tmobile. They have also appointed a new CEO

2016 LEAPS look like an educated risk to me.

my grandfather bought me United Telecom as a stock in 1981 or 1982, which eventually became sprint.
The stock is worth less now that it was then, although i did get great dividends for years, and I did get some cash outs during acquisitions.
$60 vs. $100.
I wouldn't touch this stock.
BTW, I still have the stock. My mother was listed as the guardian but she got divorced and had her name changed, and its proven to be very difficult to be able to sell the stocks. I tried to do a sell in 2008 or so but was rejected b.c my mother's ID didn't match her name on the stock. It was such a pain in the fricking arse.
It was a great educational lesson for me on the stock market.

What did you learn?

What did you learn?
what the stock market is
what the time value of money means
what dividends are
how to read a stock quote (back in the newspaper days)
what diversification means
and a whole bunch of terminology.
I was probalby the only grandkid (5 other) that picked up these lessons though. YMMV
