Short term access to cheap cash?

Long story short...I want (not need) to use someone else's money for a smallish ($3,500-4,000) home project. I can use savings, but if I could easily find it for free-ish....I'm thinking promotional 0% cash advance credit card for 12-18 months...?
Anyone know of anything currently?

Maybe Home Depot and Lowes have promotions if you buy all the supplies through them?

Either this, or you could get a points/miles earning credit card and use this opportunity to meet the minimum spending requirement to earn the promotional bonus. You'd have to use your money, but the return is much bigger. I recommend the Chase Sapphire Reserve that comes with 100K sign up bonus, $300 travel credit and a few other things after spending $4000 in the first 3 months.
The 100K points is worth at least $1,000, or $1,500 if you use for travel. Lot more if you transfer to travel partners.
If you absolutely must get a 0% credit card, get the Citi Double Cash. It has a 0% intro rate for purchases for first 21 months and gives you 2% cash back effectively (1% when you buy, 1% when you pay). 2 birds, 1 stone.
If you are going to be shopping at Lowe's or Home Depot etc, buy their gift cards through gift card reseller sites like Cardpool/Raise etc. to get 10-20% off your project.

I did just get a promotion in the mail from Home Depot for 24 months no interest or 10% off.....contemplating that as an option, but really not pumped about doing it myself....ground is hard as concrete....I've heard people tell stories about how powered augers have trouble too....

There's a guy on here that goes by "garymyman" that might help you out. He's loaded apparently. Drives a Porsche / fancy watches, etc. He really believes in treating people fairly. Maybe he can help you out.

Don't know of any 0% cash advance, but I just got a blue Amex with 0% financing for a year, 300 back off first 1000 spent (within 3 months), 1% back on all purchases, 2% at supermarkets, and 3% on gas.

Thanks man.
The 0% on cash advances has proven to be either non existent or really hard to find. 0% on balance transfers however...a little easier.

Why do you need a cash advance?? Shopping for stuff in store or gcs online will all count as purchases (which are fee free).
Im not sure you understand the meaning of cash advance or balance transfer.
Probably a better idea. But figured OP was looking for longer term over points. If 15 months is good, Freedom U maybe a better bet. Also, Chase cards are harder to get if it is your first one.

Another thing about Citi Double Cash vs. Freedom U to consider is that it would take $30k of spend before the Citi card benefits outweigh the Freedom U...
Also, I was pretty disappointed getting only a $500 credit limit from Citi Double Cash.. the rest of my cards average about a $12k limit. Although I had read some complaints about low limits so I shouldn't have been surprised.

So many folks on here love to try and show their superior knowledge saying stuff like this.
I asked for exactly what I wanted to know.

There is a huge difference between a cash advance vs balance transfer vs 0% interest. People's advice can be dependent on which one you want
If you say you want a 0% cash advance, that doesn't exist.
If you want 0% interest, that does exist
If you want 0% on balance transfers, that does exist

Gene speaks the truth. There's no free money. 0% cash advance doesn't exist. It's stupid business.

Often times people think MT posters are dicks because they try to gauge whether or not they need to explain something. It often is done in a blunt way
AUjim initially asked about cash advances, most seem to think he really meant 0% interest period
You could work some angles to get a 0% cash advance but would be a pain.
