shopping baton rouge mortgage rates

Any suggestions on looking for 30 year rates in the area? Local or on-line options that you have had good experiences with.

I had good luck with Whitney Bank. Lady named Amy Edmonston at the Bluebonnet branch seemed to really work hard and got us in to a good rate/deal. I tried shopping credit unions and smaller banks. Had really odd results with the various loan officers.(like they didn't know wtf they were talking about) GMFS was ok to deal with just didn't give me as good a deal as Whitney did for my situation. I'd definitely call GMFS also.

Iberia and standard mortgage seem to have the lowest fee and rate combination. You can generally negotiate this.

todays rate around 3.625 to 3.75%, worst case 3.875%. - 30 yr conventional loan
